Territory exporters reach new markets

Territory businesses have embraced the Global Trade Scheme to establish and grow their exporting capabilities. 

The Global Trade Scheme is designed to assist Territory businesses to develop and grow their international market capabilities and to increase trade in the Territory.

In the past financial year $99,198 in funding has been granted to 25 Territory businesses to undertake activities that will help them grow their existing market and enter into new markets.

Representing a wide range of industries including creative arts, tourism, international education, energy, digital technologies and space.

One company, Darwin based business Digital Thrive received funding under the Global Trade Scheme to participate in the Australian Timor-Leste Business Economic Forum.

Attending the event has assisted the business to understand and expand into developing nations such as Timor-Leste.

Mr Sarawanan Nandhakumar from Digital Thrive said “Through the Scheme, I have been able to share our innovative solutions and hopefully form partnerships that will contribute to the digital transformation in the region.”

Global Trade Scheme Grants are available on a 50:50 co-contribution basis to businesses at every stage of their export journey

Stream 1: Grants of up to $3,000 to assist businesses to become export ready.

Stream 2: Grants of up to $10,000 to assist export-ready capable Territory companies to grow existing and enter new export markets

Stream 3: Grants of up to $50,000 to assist export-capable Territory companies to grow existing and entre new export markets through a cluster or industry association project.

Applications are now open and will remain open until grant funding is exhausted.
