About Adria
I have always had a deep interest in exploring and experiencing more cultures and people around the world. I grew up hearing wonderful stories about Australia, in particular, the Northern Territory (NT) from my father. So, when I got the chance to move here, I took it almost instantly. Even before I moved here, I have always loved to involve myself in activities in and outside of school to help build my social and leadership skills.
I started year 10 at Darwin High School after I moved here, and I was completely surprised with how supportive and friendly my school, and the NT, is. I was amazed by its natural beauty, as I visited various attractions like Litchfield and Kakadu.
The multicultural and diverse community is another element I am grateful for. The welcoming community here never, even for a moment, made me feel out of place. The laidback and easy-going nature of people instantly made me feel at home.
I gradually learn of the many opportunities through which I can give back to the community. I started to get more involved in school and the local community. I took on my role as the Vice President of the Student Representative Council of my school, which also opened plenty of opportunities in community work and leadership for me. I realised how passionate I am about the community and how it helps me to live my life to the fullest. I hope to continue to share my awesome experience in the NT, and give back to this amazing community as much as I can.
