In 2018, looking out from the taxi window as I travelled from the Darwin airport to the Charles Darwin University (CDU) campus at midnight, my life in Darwin unfolded. I had come to Darwin to volunteer as a Mandarin teacher at Confucius Institute at CDU for one year. That year gave me some of the best memories of my life.

Located in the suburbs of Darwin, Charles Darwin University is uniquely charming and enjoyable; it really is like no other. A beach is just several minutes’ walk away, and the environment is so green and serene. The day before my departure from Darwin back in 2018, I burst into tears and promised myself I would come back.

Now, four years later, here I am! I’m back just as I promised myself. After travelling through several continents, I still find this is the most beautiful and unique place for me to pursue further study.
