Avika

I am Avika from Delhi, the capital city of India. After completing Year 9 from Montfort Sr. Secondary School, my parents and I made the decision to apply with St John’s Catholic College for my Year 10 studies. My uncle, who has been living in the Northern Territory for the past 5 years, inspired me to come here.

Studying abroad is many people’s dream and I’m honoured with this wonderful opportunity to study in Darwin. Because of its distinctive and varied cultural experiences, Darwin was my choice of destination. I enjoy adventure and outdoor exploration, so the city's proximity to natural wonders like Kakadu National Park really appeals to me. I was also interested in the chance to discover and learn more about Aboriginal culture. I can't wait to interact with new people from all backgrounds and see everything that this energetic city has to offer.

I have excelled academically with a strong passion for mathematics, English and science. I enjoy participating in extra-curricular activities such as model United Nation’s, playing basketball and singing. Additionally, I also have a passion for graphic design and enjoy learning new languages.

I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead and I'm determined to work hard to accomplish my goals. Finally, I would like to thank the Study NT team for awarding me this scholarship which will assist me and my family, and help me focus more on my studies. I am excited to embark on this new journey in my academic and personal life.
