My name is Victoria, I’m from Argentina and I left home to move to Darwin in March 2023. I am one of the lucky recipients of the Study in Australia’s Northern Territory Scholarship, and I’m taking the Diploma of Project Management at International House Business College. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to move to Darwin; it is an amazing city and it’s a great opportunity to gain new knowledge that will help move my career forward. On top of that, I get to experience what is like to live abroad surrounded by so many different cultures.

Since I’ve arrived, everyone has been so warm and welcoming. The community is open to foreign students and it is easy to feel at home from the start. I love all the opportunities that we as students have to meet other students from different education providers and to network with local businesses. As someone who came to Darwin without knowing anyone, I really appreciate these activities as they make me feel welcome, and it is easier to meet others in the same situation.

What made me choose Darwin as my destination was the world-class education, the growing multicultural community, the beautiful nature that surrounds the city and the slow, small city lifestyle. After moving here, I have to say that I was right in my decision. The Northern Territory is everything I have read and more. I am really enjoying the change of pace after living all my life in a big city, taking walks in the beautiful parks and watching the sunset, which is breathtaking every day. I know that there are many more adventures to come in the next year and I am ready for them.
