Hi there! My name is Shanthi Annapareddy, and I am from India. Currently, I am pursuing my Master of Information Technology (IT) in Software Engineering at Charles Darwin University (CDU), I have completed my Bachelor of IT in India. Growing up in a city that never sleeps and traffic is the norm, I longed for a change of scenery and a more relaxed pace of life along with a suitable university where I could complete my Masters. That's when I found CDU in the Northern Territory (NT) and decided to pursue my studies in Darwin.

The NT is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and diverse community, which was a huge draw for me. It has been a year since I moved to Darwin and it had been a delight to live and study here, and during this time I have had the opportunity to volunteer for various events and organisations. Currently, I serve as the Database Officer for Kindness Shake and additionally, I was fortunate enough to be selected as an Ambassador for the CDU IT CodeFair. These experiences have given me a chance to immerse myself in the local culture, meet new people, and develop new skills.

Another of the things that drew me to the Northern Territory was the abundance of employment opportunities. Whether you are a student or a professional seeking a change of pace, the NT has something to offer. The multicultural community and unique landscape create an environment that is both exciting and fulfilling. As a software engineering student, I have been particularly impressed with the IT industry in the NT where there are numerous opportunities for students and professionals alike. The skills I have gained through my studies and volunteer work have positioned me to take advantage of these opportunities.

Overall, I feel incredibly lucky to be studying in the NT. It has offered me the perfect balance of natural beauty, a diverse community, standard education, and a laid back lifestyle. So for those seeking opportunities, the Northern Territory is a promising place to be.
