Sarwat

Hi, I am Sarwat and I recently moved to the Northern Territory (NT). I come from Bangladesh and living here for the past few months has been a different, but wonderful experience. I started Year 11 at Darwin High School this year, in January.

I have been loving the city, as well as the school. Darwin’s weather and cultural diversity makes me feel at home. I have already encountered a lot of people from different cultures and backgrounds. Being able to study in Colorado, United States, in a cultural exchange program last year, allows me to make a comparison with Darwin and I must say, Darwin is excellent in terms of its education system, job opportunities, people, and nature. My school, Darwin High, reflects these beautiful features of this city too, such as cultural diversity along with an active student body, and interactive and supportive teachers. I have been making friends and adapting to the education system, which is of very high quality.

The desire to gain leadership skills in order to give back to this wonderful city, has driven me to apply for the Study NT Student Ambassador program. I am grateful for the opportunity to be an Ambassador, and look forward to the amazing people I will be meeting, and the experience I will be gaining through this program.
