About Renu

Hi there, my name is Renu and I’m from Nepal. Working in the community health sector in Nepal in order to serve the rural, disadvantaged and indigenous populations has always been meaningful to me and this is where I want to continue to contribute my knowledge, skills and energy for the rest of my life. I had volunteered and worked in the community health sector in several rural areas in Nepal as a Registered Nurse and public health officer for almost a decade and I have always been proud of this work.

I came to Australia in July 2018 to pursue a Master of Public Health in New South Wales to learn in-depth about the health of population. It was an amazing and eye-opening journey of learning. Understanding about public health in Australia and my passion towards working for promoting the health of Aboriginal and underserved population led me to decide to study Master of Nursing Practice.

While I was researching universities to study Master of Nursing it was important that the opportunity to learn the quality nursing practice is based on evidence by being close to rural and regional communities. Charles Darwin University became my first and only preference for this course and this is the reason I came to Darwin. I strongly believe that the opportunity to study Master of Nursing Practice in Darwin, Northern Territory would help and support my devotion of learning about the quality nursing practice to serve the regional communities. I do not think that these could be learnt in major cities.

Knowing every day that I am living my dream and living a meaningful life surrounded by beautiful Mother Nature is one of the most wonderful things that I enjoy about living in Darwin.
