Prashun

Hi, my name is Prashun and I am from Nepal. I came to Australia in 2018 and moved to Darwin from Sydney in 2021 to study commercial cookery and hospitality management at Bayside International College.

Moving to Australia from Nepal was a big change for me. Moving to Darwin from Sydney was another big change. I found Darwin to be a vibrant and multicultural place. I also noticed that it is significantly easier to find jobs here in the hospitality sector. Being a student in hospitality, this is the best thing for me. I also love the warm, tropical weather, local markets and outback adventures.

Since I arrived I have found that there a lot of international student activities and support initiatives through Study NT, Kindness Shake, Red Cross, the Nepalese Association of Northern Territory. These initiatives have really helped me to settle into the community. I enjoy attending these events, expressing myself and also learning from others. It also helps me to progress in my professional career in many ways.

I am proud to be a Study NT Student Ambassador. It has been a great experience so far and I am really excited to continue my journey as an international student in Darwin.
