About Gunawan
My name is Gunawan and I am studying English in the Northern Territory.
Everyone is encouraged to have an opinion. The teachers push and encourage me and learning seems fun. And after only six months of study I am on track for university next year.
I love that getting around Darwin is safe and easy, and the scenery is just spectacular. It’s a very different motorbike experience to back home. It was easy to get a part-time job where I practise my English - 'housekeeping'.
And I enjoy the many restaurants, especially the ones by the water where feeding the fish is encouraged.
Studying in Darwin has made living and working overseas easy and I have told my brother 'if you want a better future and a good lifestyle you must study here'.
