The BPW Australia Women’s Economic Security symposium was a three-day event held at Hilton, Darwin on the 17-19 November 2023. Victoria and Ayumi, two of the 2023 Study NT Student Ambassadors were invited as guests for the Office of Gender, Equality and Diversity. 

The symposium featured keynote speakers, panel discussions and brainstorming sessions for addressing issues related to fostering inclusive workplaces, reducing gender inequality and navigating Australia’s income support system as a single mother.

 “The BPW Australia Women's Economic Security Symposium proved to be an invaluable experience for us as international students. The symposium provided us with a unique opportunity to gain insights into the ongoing efforts to promote gender equality and economic empowerment for women in Australia. We were also deeply inspired by the stories of the keynote speakers and the passion of the participants“ said Victoria.
