Significant Investor (subclass 188) Stream and Significant Investor Extension (subclass 188) visa stream

This visa is if you are intending to invest at least AU$5 million into complying investments in Australia and want to maintain business and investment activity in Australia.

A state or territory government or Austrade can nominate you on behalf of the Australian Government.

Australia's Northern Territory (NT) Government targets genuine, high calibre applicants who are willing to invest and do business in the NT.

The prime factor considered for approval of NT nomination is the long-term benefit to the NT economy.

Nomination criteria will change from time to time to reflect the NT’s emerging needs.

Nomination guidelines

You must demonstrate you meet NT nomination requirements as well as the Australian Government criteria.

You must notify the NT Government of your contact details, including any changes.

NT Government nomination is not transferable to any other Australian state or territory.

How to apply for nomination

Step 1

Complete a Significant Investor Stream application.

Step 2

If you are successful, lodge an Expression of Interest (EoI) through SkillSelect and advise the NT Government of your EoI number.

Step 3

You will receive an invitation from the Australian Government to apply for your visa.

Step 4

Lodge your visa application.
