Update: Closure of the Business Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP) nominations

Unexpectedly, the Australian Government has not provided states and territories with BIIP nomination allocations for the 2023-24 program year.

Therefore, the Northern Territory is not able to accept any application for nomination under BIIP and is not able to issue any nominations under BIIP at this stage. Existing applicants will receive correspondence with respect to their applications.

The Northern Territory Government continues to advocate for migration settings that suit the needs of the Territory.

Now is an ideal time to invest, start a business in Australia’s Northern Territory (NT) or move your business to the NT.

Business Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP)

The NT Government through MigrationNT provides nominations for eligible investors, business owners and entrepreneurs for visas under the Australian Government’s Business Innovation and Investment Program.

The Northern Territory initially nominates successful applicants for a provisional visa which has a pathway to permanent residence.

MINT program

The Migration Innovation Northern Territory (MINT) program is an innovative program managed by the Darwin Innovation Hub (Paspalis Group) and supported by the NT Government.

MINT is a hybrid Investment/General Skilled Migrant program that encourages skilled migration and venture capital investment.
