NT community celebrates Study NT International Student Awards launch

NT International Student Awards launch

Study NT recently launched the 2023 International Student Awards with a vibrant event at the Darwin Botanic Gardens. Close up 70 international students, alumni, educators, industry professionals, and community members joined the launch event.

Scott Lovett, Deputy Chief Executive at the Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade, opened with a warm welcome, highlighting the awards' role in recognising exceptional international students, alumni and local businesses that employ them.

2022 Study NT International Student of the Year, Rosie Nguyen, shared her journey in the Northern Territory (NT). She shared how winning the award propelled her career and personal growth and reflected on the NT’s supportive and welcoming environment.

The event marked the launch of the 2023 awards program, inviting individuals to nominate or provide a reference for students and alumni who exemplify academic excellence and community engagement, as well as employers who support students’ careers in the Territory.

Attendees welcomed the awards program as a way to celebrate international students' contributions and encourage further growth. This year’s awards program also introduced a new alumni category and prize money to further support international students in their studies.

Nominations will close at 11.59pm ACST on Sunday, 1 October.
