Vocational education and training

Vocational education and training (VET) is accredited training in job-related and technical skills.

What’s the difference between VET and TAFE?

Nothing. In the Northern Territory (NT), all VET qualifications are delivered by private institutions including Charles Darwin University. In other places in Australia, government institutions, called technical and further education (TAFE) institutions, deliver VET, as well as private institutions

VET provides international students with qualifications for all types of employment, and specific skills to help them in the workplace.

International education and training providers in the NT are listed below.

Australian Institute of Electro-technology

AUSINET (Australian Institute of Electro-technology) is a Darwin-based specialised training institution for electrical and instrumental training. From sketching a concept and then building it from scratch, this training will provide you with necessary skills and information about industry experts and not by individuals who has never been in the field.

Most of the course is focused on practical assignments which will give you the experience to hit the ground running. The assessments are carefully designed by industry experts and not by individuals who have never been in the field. This is a technical field which cannot be learnt through books unless you put it into practice. One can't learn to ride a bike by reading books.

On successful completion you will awarded a technical trade certificate that is highly valued in the industry. Job opportunities include, but not limited to Instrumental technicians in the oil and gas sector, pharmaceuticals, process industry, mining, manufacturing, robotics, OEM and most automation platforms.
