Australia’s trade by state and territory
New South Wales' exports hit a new record in 2015 to 2016 (up $3.1 billion), according to Australia's Trade by State and Territory 2015 to 2016 released today. International demand was higher for most states and territories, with export volumes having increased for Tasmania, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory and South Australia.
In 2015 to 2016, Western Australia continued to be Australia's major exporter, accounting for 35.2% of Australia's total exports (valued at $110 billion), followed by New South Wales (22.8%), Queensland (20.1%) and Victoria (13.7%).
